@kate2357 I usually just do a basic meatloaf and add the sauce to the top. Halfway through the baking I will add a little more sauce then when serving I have some heated sauce on the side. I always have to triple the sauce recipe because the family just loves it.

1 8 oz can tomato sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (can use cider vinegar)

1 tablespoon mustard of choice

( When I triple the recipe I usually make it with 16 oz tomato sauce and about 1 cup ketchup)

Thank you for your recipe. I have a meatloaf in freezer to bake off soon and will use your sauce. I know my husband will enjoy it and I have all those ingredients on hand all the time. 😊

@goldensrbest

Unless someone specifies their use of turkey or a combination of beef and pork, I think it's safe to assume the majority of us use hamburger or ground chuck for our meatloaf.

I avoid using straight hamburger due to the water and fat content, altho it works great with deer burger.  Ground sirloin is too lean for a meatloaf.
