Re: Maple Walnut Apple Crisp

I'm not much of a cook but I do make apple crisp fairly often in fall and winter. The addition of maple syrup and walnuts sounds so delicious! I will definitely use this recipe. Smiley Happy

I love the idea of the walnuts. I am going to try it with & without the maple syrup.

Thanks Lola!

Re: Maple Walnut Apple Crisp

I love apple crisp in the fall.  I made almost the exact recipe last week but used pecans instead of walnuts.  Nice and warm with french vanilla ice cream!  Yum!

Can't wait to try this.  I LOVE maple syrup, and wish I could just drink it.

I also like apples but can't eat them raw because they hurt my teeth.

Re: Maple Walnut Apple Crisp

Is there any reason this couldn't be done in the microwave?

It's so darn hot here I don't want the oven on unless it was a matter of life and death!

You're so welcome! I love these flavors too.

I don't see why you couldn't microwave it, Tink. Or maybe cook the apples in a skillet then finish it up in the microwave.

Have a great day ladies,

I don't think the topping would crisp if "baked" in a microwave.
