DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MINT CHIP COOKIES

1  10-oz. package (1-1/2 cups) NESTLE Mint Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels,

     divided.

1-1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

1/2 cup chopped nuts

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Melt over hot (not boiling) water 3/4 cup of the mint chocolate      chips.

Stir until smooth.  (or in microwave, melt on high 1 minute, stir, repeat).

Cool to room temperature.

In bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.

Add melted morsels and egg; beat well.

Gradually blend in flour mixture

Stir in remaining morsels and nuts.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 375 degrees for  8-9 minutes

Allow to stand 2-3 minutes before removing from cookie sheets; cool.

 

Makes about 1-1/2 dozen cookies.

You're welcome.  And by the way, I believe I saw an ad or recipe somewhere that mentioned  Nestle's dark chocolate chips (as opposed to the old traditional semi-sweet).   Did not know those existed.

 

 I'll bet they can make a good cookie, especially now that dark chocolate has become sort of a health fad.
