When I was a kid ( a very long time ago), my Grandmother made cookies that she called "syrup" cookies. They were soft and big, and sort of like a teacake. Unfortunately, neither my Mother, nor I, got that recipe from her. I have tried all sorts of recipes over the years trying to duplicate that particular cookie. Back in those days, I remember my Grandmother always had ribbon cane syrup on the table for breakfast - my Grandad put it on the homemade biscuits. So, I'm guessing she used that kind of syrup for the cookies.
I wondered if any of you might have a recipe along this line.
