I bought a pkg. of this after seeing something on line about it being a meat substitute. I of course will google , but do any of you have experience with this product ?

My vegan niece cooks it in a slow cooker into a 'pulled pork' type of sandwich filling.

A whole jackfruit weighs approximately 10-50 pounds. There is a lot of waste to cut and peel away to get to the pods. The outside of the jackfruit has a pungent gross smell. 

 

I have had jackfruit from the produce aisle a couple of times and I would enjoy it from a company that cans or seasons their products instead.

@QVCkitty1 I hope you enjoy it.  I follow a lady named Tabitha Brown on FB and she cooks with jjackfruit very often.  Some of the items she prepares looks very tasty.

Very interesting topic here---thanks for the info--have been intirgue with jackfruit but have never tried it on my own.
