Hot Milk Cake

 

In a saucepan melt 1 stick butter and 1 cup of milk. Keep warm.

 

Beat 4 eggs in a mixer, add 2 cups sugar. Sift together 2 cups all purpose flour and 2 teaspoons baking powder. Add to the eggs/sugar. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. 

With the mixer running on low add the hot milk/butter. Put in a greased and

floured bundt pn. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

@Barbarainnc Does this cake need to be frosted or is it served plain.

@Barbarainnc My MIL always made this for my oldest son's birthday because it was his favorite. She called it a "Hot Milk Sponge." She iced with an icing made from confectioners sugar, butter, vanilla and coco powder. I don't have the amounts of those ingredients.

I bet it would be even more delicious with a hot fudge or caramel sauce.

I have a hot milk cake recipe too and I made that and my grandmas choc wacky cake into a marble cake--used that for my kids b-days for years.

I love it plain. Or I have put sliced strawberries and whipped cream on top for my birthday last year. 😊 ❤ 😊
