Iced Tea recipe? I just steep any tea and pour over ice. Sometimes I stuff my Keurig with tea bags and just brew over a giant plastic cup full of ice. Use any tea you like. I love Earl Grey, Mango Ceylon (Republic of Tea), Acai Mango (Celestial Seasonings) and some green teas.

I pretty much do the same. I heat a cup of water in the microwave. Once it's hot, I add a tea bag of my choice and some sugar. I let it steep for about five minutes, pour over ice and drink.

Lola's iced tea recipe is actually quite healthy for you between the green tea, the ginger and the C..but I just drop the tea bags in water. I don't even boil the water anymore and it works fine. my favorite teas for iced are Celestial Seasonings red zinger or Twinings blackcurrant. I don't put sweetening in my tea and those two are very flavorful and delicious. I discovered the Twinings years ago in a restaurant in Austin

Haven't read the thread, but here's my main tip, no matter what the recipe: Don't use super hot just-boiled water, as it causes too much bitter tannin to leach out.

I have come to the point where I just use regular temp water, put in loose tea or bags and let it take a day or two to steep. The warmer the water, the faster the release of flavor. You can add ginger slices and lemon slices (or whatever you want) to steep along with it, and for sweetener if you want cane sugar, make a simple syrup first. One part sugar, one part hot or warm water. Dissolve sugar, add to your tea to taste.

It's peach-picking season here which means I'll probably add a couple peach slices to my pitcher of tea, once it's in the fridge. You can make what YOU want. You don't have to buy food industry junk. - Bird

Bring 2 cups water to just under the boil. Pour over 6 bags tea (I like Tetley) and a pinch of baking soda. Allow to steep 30 - 40 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Add 6 cups cold water. That's it and it makes very good tea.

The baking soda doesn't add any flavor at all. It stops the tea from getting bitter and keeps it from getting cloudy.

What? Homemade ice tea? I put a bunch of tea bags in a pot of water (I like Spring water), I boil it, put in sugar and lots of ice.

Make sure the ice melts from the hot tea before you put the ice in.

Did you know you can use your Keurig and make delicious ice tea?

You can buy the pods of tea (for iced tea) in the grocery store. If you want to make a separate glass of it.

It is Lipton and it is delicious!!

I've used Giada DiLaurentiis's ginger iced tea recipe before and it's delicious. Go to FoodNetwork.com and search Giada Iced Tea. You can toy with the base recipe and come up with your own variation. The key is using a simple syrup!! Delish!

Years ago we used to make Sun Tea. We'd fill a jug or pitcher with water and several tea bags. We left it out in the sun and let the sun brew it. When it was ready we'd bring it in and add several packets of sweet and low or any packeted sugar and then we'd put lemon wedges in it. When it was chilled it was refreshing.
