Here's the recipe for the bananas that I made in the Technique BBQ Grill pan on In the Kitchen with David on QVC on Sunday, June 26th. The trick here is to keep the banana in its skin for as much of the cooking as possible. That helps the banana stay together and it makes it easier to handle.

Ingredients:

4 bananas

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the Technique BBQ Grill pan on your outdoor BBQ until it is so hot that you can only hold your hand above the pan for 2 to 3 seconds before you want to pull it away. Reduce the heat below the pan to medium.
  2. Cut the bananas in half, lengthwise, leaving the peel on.
  3. Combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, butter and cinnamon in a bowl. Brush this mixture on the cut side of the bananas.
  4. Place the bananas, cut side down, on the Grill Pan. Grill for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the bananas are nicely marked. Turn the bananas over and cook on the peel side for another 2 to 3 minutes. The peel should start to pull away from the banana.
  5. Remove the bananas from the pan and pull off the peel. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or just by themselves!
