I prefer the recipe without sour cream, very similar to Cracker Barrel hash browns.
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 can (10.75 ounce size) cream of chicken soup, undiluted
2 cups shredded Colby cheese
2 pounds thawed, frozen hash brown potatoes

I prefer Hash Brown casserole, but never use sour cream. I like the creaminess of this casserole to come from butter and cream of chicken soup, with most of the cheese on top along with bacon.

Ham. Somebody dies and you take a Ham and some paper plates and Dixie Cups.

Thanks. I’ve lived in the Midwest, on south and west. I’m always interested in regional linguistic differences 🙂

I prefer to call them "Cheesey Potatoes" and also prefer frozen shredded hash browns to chunky. A MUST with crab legs!

We call them Cheesy Potatoes.
