FRUITCAKE RECIPE?

Hi everyone...I know the holidays are over, but I have 3/4 of a large tub of mixed little fruity bits still to use up. My husband LOVES fruitcake (really, he does) so I made a pound cake fruitcake. He said it was OK, but he likes the DOORSTOP fruitcakes (LOL, no offense) The ones with very little cake and lots of fruits & nuts. His mom used to make one that she hid in the closet and poured some kind of liquor over it for weeks before allowing it to be served. DH thinks she poured wine...I never heard of that! Sadly, the recipe he loved was lost when she passed. I have googled and got swamped w/ so many recipes I can't even get my mind around them!

Does anyone have a fruity (less cake) recipe that they swear by? If there is a booze in it, even better! Thanks so much in advance!
