Double Butterscotch Chewies

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup butterscotch pieces
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup coconut

Melt butter and butterscotch pieces in a saucepan.
Add remaining ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
Spread in greased 8" or 9" square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 or 30 minutes.
Cool.
Frost with penuche frosting or leave plain.
