My favorite pizza place, which was bought by my favorite Indian restaurant, had a special lunch salad today that was truly delicious. New to me. Ingredients:

Iceberg lettuce

Romaine lettuce

Marinated grilled chicken breast

Feta cheese

Cubed butternut squash

Cranberries

Carrots

Peanuts

Dressed with a sweet onion vinaigrette.

Included a cup of soup and hot pizza dough knots, $9.50.

Wow!

@PickyPicky3   I've had various versions of that salad at different places and I love it!  Some places call it a Harvest salad or Fall salad.  Some places use walnuts or pumpkin seeds, and other add-ins.  Really yummy!  Below is one version.  BTW, you got a great price for that meal!  Glad you enjoyed it!

@PickyPicky3  That sounds delicious! Nice, unusual combination of food. A good vinaigrette can make a salad also. But I can't supply a name sorry to say.

@LdyBugz   It's great to have that kind of meal in a neighborhood Mom & Pop shop. Their lunch specials are all $9.50. Today they must have had chicken breast left over from the weekend. Other yummy choices: chicken picata over pasta and a chicken caprese sandwich.

My mom used to put peanuts in Cole slaw, which made it ever so much better for a kid.

I make a salad very similar (minus the chicken) with crasins and Follow Your Heart feta.  We have salads for lunch and it is fun to get creative with the ingredients.  

Sounds like a wonderful restaurant for lunch...enjoy!
