Hello Recipe Game friends and welcome to October!  And yes I said October . . . I know I can't believe it either my gosh it's Fall!  Smiley Surprised

With that in mind, let's start to look through our cooler weather recipes.  Goodness knows it's never too early to start planning for upcoming holiday feasts!  Thank you to our friend  @RespectLife who got us started with that fabulous bread pudding recipe, perfect for the fall!  Please share your favorite seasonal recipes be it sides or main courses starting with the letter C or your choice:

BREAD PUDDING

This Pecan Pie Bread Pudding has the signature sweet, sticky, crunchy flavor of pecan pie married into a delicious dessert or breakfast treat.

  • 6 cups Italian or French bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Cube the bread into bite size pieces- it should be a day or two old, not fresh. Place bread in a large bowl.
  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and white sugar.
  2. Pour over bread to coat completely; let soak for 10 minutes. **I personally let it soak much longer....
  3. Pour the bread mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
  4.  In a medium bowl, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, and melted butter.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the bread and top with pecans.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

PS  I add a shot of Jim Beam Honey Bourbon

@walker  One recipe post was full of links to an Amazon Affiliate blog, must have been 10 or 12 links in greenish colored text, you know how those color text words are links? I was signing in to tell the poster she probably should take out the links but whole thing was vanished by the time I could sign in. I think you're right there were a couple others after that one, don't know about them.

Note...I have seen similar recipes that add a little elbow macaroni and/or tomato sauce as well.

KETO/LOW CARB BLUEBERRY LEMON SCONES

I made these and over the weekend and really liked how, they came out.   FYI, I recommend aluminum free baking powder.  It's all I use ever since having a culinary disaster with Buffalo wings.

Re: OCTOBER 2023 RECIPE GAME

When the links are just colored words words, how do you know and how do you disable them?  I see how to "reference" them!

I have changed the 'underline' and 'color' for some...that doesn't disable them?  I thought the big "A" was acceptable!

@Zhills

There are a couple of ways to get rid of the links.  Probably the easiest way is to backspace erase the word and retype it.

@house_cat   That's all I have found that works.  Guess I didn't do that with my recipe.  Smiley Frustrated
