Cookies for Christmas??

[ Edited ]

I snapped a picture of the store brand butter yesterday and sent it to my daughter. It was $8.50 for a 1 lb box. I am sure I will bake cookies if she wants them but I will also look for a sale. Smiley Surprised

I do not think ours has been up that high! I think it's half that. But wow! That is expensive for butter!

In New Jersey yesterday, Hotel Bar Butter was 6.69, so, I bought the store brand for 3.99! Crazy prices...

@meallen616  I've been switching to store brands for some things.  The savings do add up, and there's no difference in the quality compared to the name brand I would usually purchase.

@LdyBugz,

I totally agree with you. The names brands have gotten way out of my price range!

Ours is on sale for 3.49 today, which used to be the regular price.  I think most of our butter is now 5.49.

LOL is on sale for $3.79 this week.

DS picked up 365 brand butter at  Whole Foods for me. It was $4.71 at the store closest to him.

I really like the 365 butter. Higher fat content, closer to European butters. Doesn't explode when melting like cheaper butters.

All I can say is, if anyone ever needed an incentive for dieting all they have to do is go grocery shopping & see the prices..... $$$$$

It was predicted a few months go that butter would be going up in price.  I stocked up for the holiday baking season.

Eggs are priced high too.  Too bad I can't really stock up on them. I do not want  to break them to freeze.  I prefer fresh.
