I love baking, but Cinnamon Rolls are one of the only things I have never attempted. I was looking for a recipe, but there are so many out there that are so different, I didn't know which to choose. Some have yeast, others don't...some use shortening, others don't, etc. Just may different recipes....was hoping someone could give me a tried and true recipe they use? Wanting to make some for brunch one day during the holidays when we have overnight guests. Thanks so much in advance!

Pioneer Woman has a great recipe for cinnamon rolls.  Go to her website, because most of her recipes are posted there.

Thank you so much! I found it on her website...I have tried several of her recipes and have loved each of them, so I'm sure these will be just as delicious!

I love to bake & my cinnamon rolls are sort of famous.

They are easy to make, but they take a while & they are at their best when they are fresh out of the oven.

Cinnamon Rolls

1c water

2T butter

3c bread flour

1/4c sugar

1t salt

2 1/2t yeast or 1 packet

Measure all ingredients into bread machine with the water & butter on the bottom & the yeast on the top & set on dough cycle.

Prepare filling.

1/3c sugar

2t cinnamon

2T softened butter

Flatten dough w/ hands or rolling pin into a 9” square on a floured surface.* Spread the softened butter on the dough & sprinkle cinnamon & sugar mixture.

Roll dough up tightly; pinch edge if dough to seal. Cut into 1” slices. Place in pan. Cover & let rise in warm place for 1-1 ¼ hrs until double in size.

Heat oven to 375*. Bake 20-25 mins. Remove from pan to wire rack. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls.

*I make mine into a 12" square & I am rather generous with my measurements of the butter to smooth onto it.

I use a piece of regular (Not mint) dental floss to cut the dough. It's clean & easy.

Linda’s Buttercream Frosting

4T butter

2c powdered sugar

1t vanilla

2T warm milk

Mix ingredients & mix the heck out of them until smooth.

Thank you so much for sharing your famous recipe! A lot of people don't like to give away their secrets...which I've never understood, but I really appreciate it. Can't wait to give them a try!

@michigangirl723Maybe you will improve on them & share with us.

My son always asks for these for his birthday.

I have cheated from time to time (I used frozen bread dough once & canned frosting once), but he busted me both times.

He even said "This is Pillsbury Frosting!".

They weren't bad either time. Just not as good.

Have fun & bake on!

That is so funny....we've all been there and needed to cheat bc we don't have time, but it's never the same. Homemade is always best!! Thanks again and have a happy Thanksgiving!

Here's an easy recipe I use in the bread machine. They are really good. IMO if the cinnamon rolls don't have yeast they probably are not that good.

Penzey's cinnamon smells wonderful.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!

I have some of these in the freezer. Think I will thaw one out for tomorrow. Yum!!!

Basic Sweet Dough

3/8 c milk

3/8 c water

1 egg

3 c bread flour

1 t salt

4 T butter

1/3 c sugar

2 t yeast

Put in machine in order of your bread machine instructions

Roll out dough 15 x 9

Melt 3 T butter brush on dough

sprinkle with 1/3 c sugar + 3 t cinnamon mixture

chopped pecans (optional)

Roll dough up & cut into rolls. Makes 15

Let Rise in Oven for 30 mins. on lowest setting

Bake 350° for 15 mins.

Cream Cheese Frosting

4 oz cream cheese

1/4 c butter

1/2 t vanilla

1 1/2 c confectioner's sugar

1/2-1 T milk mixing until smooth

@michigangirl723 They are really good. DH always made a copycat Cinnabon recipe from scratch. It was a lot of work. This recipe is so much easier & just as good. Hope you like them.
