What are you fixing as holiday cocktails this season?
My parents used to make hot buttered rum and serve it in these little cups, which I use also.

Looking through the Betty Crocker recipe site, I came across this cocktail recipe for:
Italian Eggnog Martinis

I really want to try this one, I love eggnog, I like almond liqueur, and am assuming Amaretto can be substituted for the Disaronno, both are almond liqueurs.
Toast the holidays in style with an elegant martini made with Disaronno, vodka and eggnog. For added flair, rim the glass with brown sugar, caramel and cinnamon and garnish with a candy cane and cinnamon stick.

Thanks for this thread and the suggestions I've already seen. I love amaretto. It doesn't seem to have much alcohol in it for a martini. I drank two martinis many years ago and they had so much alcohol in them that I've never even thought of ordering another one.
My comment will mark this thread in my profile for future reference.

It seems almost anything can be called a martini nowadays, especially if it's served in a typical martini glass ![]()
I agree about the strength of the old fashioned martinis. They were almost always made of gin, a potent liquor, imo. Later, we started seeing them made with vodka, a lot easier on the palate, imo.
I'm not a big drinker but I like to have things on hand to serve to guests, especially during the holidays, and I would like to try that BC recipe for myself ![]()

This looks wonderful! Thanks so much, and just think, the base has some of the same ingredients as the Italian Martini, no waste there ![]()
ps I've tasted the cake vodka, it's pretty good.
