I tried this dip over the holidays and it was so good. It goes well with chips and raw vegetables.

   (1) 19 oz. Can of chick peas rinsed and drained.
    (2) garlic cloves chops and mashed to a paste with 1/2 teasp. salt

     1/2 cup parsley

    1/4 cup water

     (3) Tbs lemon juice

     1/4 cup olive oil

In a blender or food processor blend all but the oil till smooth. Then add oil in a slow stream.

Thanks!  Yes! Add cumin and sesame paste ( I use a little peanut butter instead), and it's hummus! I make it all the time! Love it on toast for breakfast- very healthy!

I make hummus using black beans.

Mix everything in food processor until smooth:

15-oz can black beans, drained

1 tsp minced garlic

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp peanut butter

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder

@ahoymate , I'm not a big fan of hummus, so I was happy to find this dip minus the tahini.

Love hummus especially when there is garlic in it.

I do not buy too often lately as my husband does not care for it.

Most any bean can be used, depending on how you want to lean.  I have even dipped leftover refried red beans with peppers.

@QVCkitty1  This is hummus minus the tahini paste. It's actually what I have been making for years as there is too much oil in store bought hummus so I can trol the ingredients. Yum!
