What is the best way to remove the cheesecake from the bottom part of a springform pan?

@bargainsgirl   Run a long, thin knife like a bread knife along the metal pan.  I've been known not to remove the pan as it supports the heavy, fragile cake.  It's easy to cut and serve from the pan once the sides are removed.  Nobody knows the difference.

I have used parchment paper cut to fit the bottom.

I do the same as @Kachina624 .  I leave the bottom piece on and put that on a platter.  I have lined it with parchment too, but much easier to just leave the bottom on.

Re: Cheesecake question

I also leave it on and just place on a large serving plate and sometimes I decorate around the bottom with fresh fruit, whipped cream dollops or chocolate.

Edited to add...if I remove, I do like @Kachina624 and use a long flexible knife.

If I am serving the cheesecake at home I leave it On the pan bottom.  If I am traveling with the cheesecake I remove it from the bottom of the springform pan, with a long knife as has been mentioned.

I don't like to take the pan bottom out of the house as I've had them disappear.  Not everyone knows that empty piece of tin the cake was on is supposed to be saved.

I leave the bottom on and serve it that way. No one even notices.

I leave it on the base until I serve it. If I’m transporting it anywhere, I’ll put the sides back on the springform until it reaches its destination. If I’m not bringing the leftovers home, I’ll move the leftover cake to another plate and bring my whole pan home.
