@skatting44 Lavender infused pickles is really a thing?  If so, do you buy them or make them yourself?

A while back, I was making tuna salad and realized I had no celery.

Fortunately, I had a can of diced water chestnuts and used that.  It was great, and more convenient.

Regardless of seasonings for egg or tuna salads, I always use water chestnuts now.

@house_cat,  that is the way I usually make egg salad but if I want something different I either add the egg salad to tuna or, more often, I turn the plain egg salad into deviled egg salad.

Mayo, salt, pepper, mustard, smoked paprika and a bit of cayenne.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

@Bookplate

     I bought them at a Christmas Festival in  York Co Pennsylvania . A Couple owned a lavender farm  in Gap , Pa called " Within You Farm "  and were selling various items that they made with their lavender . One item was their home made pickles which are  delicately flavored with Lavender .

Sounds delicious.  Love Duke's what a difference.  I'll be making this tomorrow, will be using capers to replace pimento & olives.

A squirt of brown mustard and a tablespoon or two of relish.  Sometimes I add diced celery.
