Baked Chicken Wings

3 pounds chicken wings

1/2 cup sugar

3 Tablespoons corn starch

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/8 teaspoon pepper

3/4 cup water

1/3 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup soy sauce

Cut the tips off the chicken wings and discard.

Put wings in baking pan and bake at 400* for 30 minutes. Turn once during baking time. Mix sugar, cornstarch, ginger, salt and pepper together in a small saucepan. Stir in water, lemon juice and soy sauce. Cook for 3 minutes stirring constantly until thick. Brush 1/2 mixture over chicken wings. Bake for an additional 40 minutes. During this baking time, brush several times with remaining mixture.

made these and excellent. I was a bit shy on the soy sauce, thought I had more but it wasn't quite the 1/4 cup but so close I doubt it made a difference. I  enjoyed them and will certainly make them again. Hubby isn't as crazy about wings as I am so glad I don't have to deep fry anymore plus I think these tasted even better. These are a treat for me and he will eat them, just isn't crazy about them but said as long as I like them he will eat them as well, did say they weren't greasy like some, good.

@LilBitMissty@doglover3@cece5231@Nightowlz@twinkies I just thought I'd let you all know that I trim all excess fat and skin from wings before baking and this saves fat calories?Mine always get crispy too.The trimming takes a little time but with a nice sharp knife it isn't bad.

thanks for the recipe...looks like a keeper!
