I purchased the WP 1.5 C rice cooker but haven't used it yet.

The cup that came with it has no markings.

Do you estimate 1.2 cups of rice and fill to RAW????

I read 1 pot that said she used a regular 8 oz cup.

Hate for something so small to be a problem.  Thanks for your help!

Look again for the lines on the cup..hold it up to the light..they are not printed in ink, more like stamped so they are the same clear color as the cup...very hard to see...

Offge top of my head I think it's more like 3/4 cup of rice..regular measuring cup...

Oh my dear Wolfgang Puck Rice Cooker . . . sigh . . . I think the general consensus is to use the standard two to one ratio with rice to water.

The measuring cup that was supplied was a quandary until I read on other threads/posts that the standard 2 to 1 ratio (regardless of cup/vessel) works great!

Thanks so much.  I did fine the lines.  Used 1 1/2 c rice and filled to bottom of RAW.

Either I'm dense or those instructions are vague!!  2 to 1 is what I usually use in a plain pot and it comes out good.  Using Uncle Ben's rice.

My rice came out OK.  Guess I did it right.  Thanks for your answers.

I have a Chinese friend who owns a resturant.  She advised me to just put in the rice and fill with water to cover the rice and then add about 1 inch of water extra. That's what they do in the resturant and it has always worked for me.

yes, I always use this method when doing it on the stove top..Easier even, if you just stick your finger on top on the rice and make sure the water comes up to your first knuckle...

Mothertrucker, I have heard that method as well.  I've tried it with success, but continue using the rice measuring cup.  Thank you for the tip!  The cup that comes along with the WP mini rice cooker looks like a yougurt cup.  LOL  If someone has another rice cooker, or had one, and still has the measuring cup that came with it, the measurements are the same as the WP cup.  Because I had another rice cooker cup from a machine I threw out, I tossed out the WP one (I prefer the "usual" taller, narrower one that's usually included with rice cookers.).  As at least one other person stated, rice cooker measuring cups are almost precisely 3/4 cup in standard U.S.  dry measurements. For those who may have trouble reading the lines, take a permanent marker and draw a line on the outside where it marks one full rice cooker cup.  The measuring lines can be difficult to see, and I find that the marker thing helps me out a bunch.  You may have to eventually re-draw the line, every now and then, but at least it's not an expensive item, and it's on the outside of the cup. By the way, I love the rice paddle that came with the WP cooker.  It rivals the one I got woth my Tiger rice cooker.

Ooops!!  I meant to attribute the one-inch/first knuckle tip to Carmie as well.  Sorry about that.  I need a nap.  LOL

When I found the lines, I did mark them with a marker.  Excellent idea!  Thanks.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions!  Looking forward to using the rice cooker in the future.
