My ‘mind blown’ tip was freezing.

I just recently found out CostCo sells large bags of frozen avocado!

Whaaaaaaa?

@sidsmom . Ohhh, I thought you meant freeze the leftover avocado. So you can freeze the whole bag? I just got back from the store and purchased two ripe ones for tonight. They also had a mesh bag of about 8. So I could put that in the freezer like that?

It’s like a banana..have to take the peel off, then freeze.

I learned by scooping out the entire 1/2, place on a tray & freeze.

Once frozen, then place them all in a freezer bag...where they separate.

Of course, like frozen fruit, they get softer when frozen &

won’t be used for pretty slices but if you put in smoothies or

guacamole watch for sales & save $$.

@sidsmom . That’s great. All I need them for is Guacamole.

I just bought a container from amazon to keep quacamole from browning. It has a lid that you press down until it touches the dip and no air is present. It works well but the container was a little large for the amount I make.

@dex, you can use plain old plastic wrap right on top of your guacamole in any bowl/container. Also, a friend in the restaurant business taught me that a tsp of sour cream in a cup of guacamole keeps it from turning. Delicious and works every time.

@NJgirl 1205 this works better than plastic wrap but I like the sour cream idea. Will try that for sure. Thanks much.
