I had a few honey crisp apples in the fridge that I needed to use, so I sliced them up, sauteed them in some butter with cinnamon sugar, filled the bottom of the cake pan and poured Betty Crocker pound cake mix on top of it.  Voila! It was so easy and got thumbs up from my family.  I'm looking forward to trying it again with cherries or raspberries.

Great idea. Great name. Easy to make. Too bad there isn't a Pillsbury Bakeoff because this could have been a winner.

@house_cat  That looks so good! I'm going to tell DD about this. Her family will love it. We don't eat sweets anymore, but I am taking a meal to a friend in October for her surgery, and this would be a great dessert.

@house_cat     Could you tell us how you baked this? Did you mix the pound cake up according to the recipe and then bake the cake following the directions for baking the pound cake? I would love to try this.
