Gee, I haven't had a liverwurst sandwich in years.  I will see it in the lunchmeat section from time to time and from reading all these posts I might just try it again, I used to eat it with mustard and thinly sliced onions.

I grew up eating it too, but haven't had it in ages.

Now, you got me craving it - I'm popping by Aldi's to see if I can find some, because I don't recall seeing it at Kroger.

Gonna make a Liverwurst sandwich with cheese and a little mayo (on a poppyseed or sesame seed bun) as soon as I can find some - YUM!!! Smiley Wink

A Bavarian immigrant opened a great Meat shop that sells the Leberwurst I grew up eating on rye bread or a crusty roll with mustard.  Its so tasty and I appreciate great food memories.  There are differences.

My mom ate it when I was growing up but she called it Braunschweiger.  I wouldn't touch it and I don't recall my dad ever eating it.

German food, for the most part, just doesn't appeal to me.  There are a few things I would eat but they're not something I would seek out and have or make.

Growing up Mom used to make us liverwurst and baloney sandwiches with yellow mustard.  Loved them!  I will enjoy one now and then, using the low fat.

I love it too! I’ve always spread it on club or Ritz crackers, & sometimes top the liverwurst w/ some xtra sharp cheddar cheese. Delish!

I do like liverwurst but don't eat it often.  However, when I was in jr. highschool I ate it almost every day, except Fri. which was pizza day when I bought my lunch.

Yes, I like liverwurst.  I tried last year to get some bit I asked for Board head.  But as everybody knows, Boars head is not making bologna or liverwurst any more.  Right now anyway.  I will try another brand.  I like it on bread with mayo.
