Angel posted this last Spring; I've copied her remarks and some of the replies from other posters. Sounds like fun.

Angel’s Dyed Deviled Eggs

I would like to share what I do every Easter for dinner with deviled eggs. I boil my eggs as usual but after they are cooled down, I peel them. Then I dye them just as if they still have the peel on them. I like to leave mine in the dye until they get a deep bright color. Then proceed as if they have the peel on them by letting them dry. When you cut them in half, the dye will have just penetrated the outer area. Continue to make your favorite deviled egg mixture. They make the most beautiful dish. I use this all the time. After Easter when the stores put the dye kits on sale, I buy up a bunch and use them all year. A good example is for July 4th when I make mine red, white, and blue. Really a beautiful way to present your deviled eggs. And, NO the dye will not hurt you. We eat it every day in many foods that we consume.

Well at the last minute my 4 grandsons wanted potato salad as they like mine better than their mom's. So I had made an extra two dozen eggs, so used the colored ones in the potato salad. It was sooo pretty and was really a big hit. Since it was so pretty I made two bowls, and there is enough left for hubby and I for our dinner tonight to go with a new Sloppy Joe recipe that I am making in the crock pot.

So they look great in potato and macaroni salad to

Hi all! Thank you so much for this idea. I made them yesterday and everyone was amazed. I sent some to my neighbors and they kept saying "look how pretty". I can't wait for the 4th of July to make red, white & blue.

I've dyed my eggs to, but used regular food coloring. I take the yolks out first then soak the whites till they're the depth of color I want. I mix the color in a bowl of water, no vinegar

Exactly what I do!

Put enough water in a bowl to cover your egg whites, then add food coloring of your choice to the water let them sit in the water till they are the color you want. the deeper the colored water the brighter the egg whites

I use a little less vinegar, and taste isn't an issue.

I can't wait to do this.... does the vinegar change the taste of the eggs? What is your favorite colored egg?
