I think I first had it around 1980.  I still like it and will make it once or twice a year.  An oldie but a goodie to me!

If you’re talking about the one with lettuce, chopped tomato , frozen green peas , diced cucumber , boiled eggs chopped , red onion slices , grated cheese , with mayonnaise over top and then refrigerated overnight I think it’s at least from the 70s maybe ? my grandma made it in a trifle dish
She was really careful layering the ingredients so all the layers showed
It was really pretty and we all loved it
I’d forgotten about the salad my husband and kids won’t eat mayonnaise so I never made it after I got married

@Shihtzursqmom

Thanks.

The one I had didn't have chopped eggs.

There seems to be several of these recipes but they all look good.

In my experience it goes back to the 70's.  I used to make it quite often for church potlucks or family gatherings.  Since DH and I don't eat peas anymore, I've amended the recipe to use finely cut up broccoli instead. I don't make it very much though.  My go to is usually Broccoli Cauliflower Salad nowadays, which is sort of similar in ingredients, minus the lettuce, and not layered, but the dressing is made with mayo, sour cream and a little sweetener..

I love watching MeMe! I made her cranberry relish for Thanksgiving. It's delicious!😋 I read recently that she is 84! And that she still cooks a big meal every Sunday! God Bless her!🙏🏼
