Why is Q getting rid of Birkis. One show tomorrow all clearance and old styles. Too bad, they were the only shoes I could wear. I find myself doing less shopping from the Q.

I think most people are tired of that brand since there are so many alternatives now. I have a closet full of Birkenstocks I bought over the years and I still like them, but I'm ready for a different look. Vionic seems to have edged Birkenstock out of the Q.

It will be interesting to see how long Vionic lasts. I "need" their shoes, and have several pair, but am frustrated by the extremely limited supply of sizes (when it's gone it actually, really is gone, period), the inconsistency in the fit, and the price charged for non-leather goods along with the fact that the materials do not hold up. I have been scouring online stores for similar manufacturers. They are out there. In some cases they are less expensive, or cost the same for better materials, and often shipping is free. Vionic needs to, shall we say, "get real" in more than one area as far as staying competitive.

I love my Birkenstocks and usually treat myself to a new pair once or twice a year. Last year I found some I loved while on vacation but they were $110 and I didn't want to spend that much while on vacation. When I got home there was a zullilly daily special on Birkenstocks. I checked out the website and there were the exact ones I wanted for $29.99! I couldn't believe it.

So now I am going to shop around and wait for deals instead of paying the Q prices.

Birkenstocks are the only shoe I can wear, and luckily I can purchase them elsewhere. Good grief they've been around since 1897, so they've stood the test of time. Excellent product. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Try Alegria at Zappos.com. They have a lot of styles, the only hard thing is catching them in your size. They seem to run a little different in size than Birkis. Look at the size charts, and order two different sizes in same shoe, then send one pair back. Zappos is great about that and free shipping. Good luck!

I also love Birkenstocks and the Orthaheel sandals just are not comfy. Have tried 6 pair and none fit. The arch is way to high for me. I buy Birks from ebay. I can find all kind of styles.
