@AngelPuppy1 oh yes! I found this part in Helen Mirrens wise words so true to my experiences.
"Not every argument is worth your energy. Sometimes, no matter how clearly you express yourself, the other person isn’t listening to understand—they’re listening to react. They’re stuck in their own perspective, unwilling to consider another viewpoint, and engaging with them only drains you."

Silence is agreement.
@tansy you are absolutely right, but not on these forums heated debates. In the right place, one would be negligent not to speak up. But here, most don't listen, just react. It just becomes a street rumble. I do remember in the old days we could get a good debate going, respectful , even when posters totally disagreed. They were coherent, thoughtful yet steadfast. Now it's more of poop toss, lol! But your words, Silence is agreement". Is powerful and truthful

I respect what Ms. Mirren said!

Yes, have to try to enjoy the life we are blessed with... We can keep trying to fight for goodness and compassion (and I do), but we can't change the world-

I appreciate your plea for rationality and your emotional maturity, @ciao_bella . Thank you for posting this for us!
It's been a real disappointment to see some of the fighting and combativeness that used to dog Community Chat, move on over to the more peaceful refuges here, like Among Friends, and others.
I'd like to humbly offer again, this further specific suggestion. When someone is violating QVC rules, launching vile personal attacks, and sowing divisiveness-- ignore. Just ignore.
There is only a very small group who try to provoke. They have no power to wreck communication here if we don't take the bait they offer, and just post with each other in good faith. It's a simple way of making life more peaceful, even in this small corner of it.

It's also so important in these times to try to not start threads or make posts that passively appear benign, but common sense knows it will turn political or very argumentative. We're all adults and know how certain statements will be construed or how they will develop as a trigger. Can we just take a moment, re-read it, then perhaps click Delete.
For the most part, I really enjoy this discussion board. Each forum can be a respectful place for all. Among Friends, especially, has a great name, and is open to everyone. It would be nice to keep this entire forum as a soft place to land.

I agree. For instance, starting a thread about a cable tv host is a known way to start a political post. Just saying...
Not directed at you, @Caaareful Shopper.
