Wine vendor calling customers selfish

I am currently watching Holiday Gourmet. Wine vendors says "You can give it as a gift or be selfish and keep it".  This annoys me. Look, they are in the business to SELL and make money, why should she care what we do with it once she has our money? Why would she be calling people selfish if they buy it for themselves?  It I was head of QVC I would have a chat with this vendor.

They'll try or say anything to make a sale.

@mormel20 I didn't see it, but I'm sure it was just supposed to be funny and light hearted banter.  Many times people shop for others around the holidays espectially and end up buying themselves a lot of things!!  Or they keep something they were going to buy for others.  Anyway, I am quite sure it was not meant to be serious or insulting in any way.

I wouldn't have thought to be offended.

I don't see what the big deal is.  It seems people can't even use common, light-hearted expressions now without offending someone.

How many times have we heard someone say (or said it ourselves) something like "I was selfish and kept it all for myself!"  It's a joke, for heaven's sake!

@mormel20   that doesn't bother me but for some reason when they say "that's a no brainer" it does!  If I don't buy it I'm stupid.... that one doesn't work for me.

@simplyfriends. I interpret  "no brainer" to mean you don't even have to think about it.

@Kachina624   I agree I just think "no brainer" is a distasteful term in sells. I would never use it.  I think yeah I have enough brains to know what I can and can't afford.

It is called humor.  No reason to be offended.
