Re: Why not spend time selling?

My "grumpy" complaint is, they talk down to viewers.  If something interested me I dont need to hear   where to wear or when.  I     liked the review of products they would present and that used some time.  Their chatter is annoying.

I think one important point is that QVC is not laughing their way to the bank. They are not in a solid financial position.  Any sales technique program will tell you regarding steps in selling is to present the facts and full description of an item.

Facts and a buying opportunity is being sacrificed by having "fun".

I don't believe @Sooner is grumpy just pragmatic with a good logical question.

I have QVC frequently on as background noise. I can't explain why I like the TV on but I do. My grandkids will pop in and I always know that QVC is a safe bet it won't have inappropriate content. It's funny, many times the kids, 9, 6 and 3, will stop to watch a segment.

Every now and then something will catch my eye that I would not search out and I will buy it. So, it works for me. I do have to say, I never had issues with hosts in the 80's and 90's. There are times now I can't even have it on for background noise with a couple of hosts.

No buying opportunity but the Hallmark channel is safe too.

The original l poster is right. Dancing around the set and talking about hot flashes doesn't encourage me to order.

Yes, I do like the Hallmark channel but don't usually tune in unless I am actually planning to sit and watch the entire movie. However, when they start playing non-stop Christmas movies I do have it on quite often as background noise.

Sooner, I just don't watch anymore. Hosts act like pre-teens, tell too many personal stories, and do everything they can think of except talk about products on air.

Watching water drip would be more entertaining than waching the Q for entertainment.

Your definition of lighhearted and fun is obviously different than many others.

If you monitor the posts, it clear that a lot of people find it over the top and ridiculous.

You do you. Let others do them. There is no need to put down OP.

Re: Why not spend time selling?

If they didn't spend so darn much time on one item, they wouldn't have time to act like idiots.  The PTB are to blame for the time.  The hosts are to blame for acting like idiots.
