@Reever   OMG!  You called CS?

Scheesh....I can't help but wonder what makes viewers so weird as to ask invasive questions that are none of their business.

Why would anyone really want to know or think they are entitled to know?

If someone asked me that question, I know what I'd tell them and it wouldn't be pretty.

I have no interest in whether someone is standing or sitting actually Smiley Happy

Everything old is new again. When I started watching QVC in the Stone Age many of the shows were done entirely with the host sitting. In fact, I’d say it was the norm as they had so much more jewelry and collectibles then. That format for me was better than the camera person trying keep up with hosts zig zagging around like some do now. It feels like no one knows the script.

@SunValley

You are right . Most presentations were done with the host sitting at a table armed with a ruler or tape to measure items, and a rare appearance with vendors.

Does anyone know why Mary De'Angelis is sitting thru her ITK shows? I've noticed it for a few weeks now. She presents the products while sitting at a table. I never see her get up to present.

I noticed it too. When I called QVC to inquire the representative seemed dismissive and did not take my concern seriously.  I hope she is ok and isnt in pain.

You actually called QVC and asked?  That is very strange.

@tiny 2 Yes the tape or ruler! Knowing the measurements was very helpful on jewelry purchases. Wow, were there some great prices on gold and silver. When I stumbled upon QVC the first item I saw presented was an amethyst and silver ring for $17 and I thought this must be fake the stone was so large. Those were the days!

Even though you're concerned, there was no chance anyone would have given out any information about a potential health or injury issue about a host or other employee.  HIPPA laws are in place to keep one's medical history private.

hippa laws only apply to companies that deal with medical issues, i.e. insurance, her medical coverage. qvc itself does NOT have to follow hippa laws.

That is true, however, the PIPA law applies to employers.  Personal Information Protection Act.

It is still illegal.

My first QVC purchase was a set of sterling silver bracelets.   Probably sometime mid to late 1990s during Jane's Sunday morning silver show.

Yes, those sure were the days.

I was not aware of a procedural change at QVC 2 which explains things but it also begs the question why hosts are even needed if vendors are doing the heavy lifting.. I remember the glory days at QVC when greats such as Kathy Levine Steve Bryant and Judy Crowell Hewson had to do their homework to sell items.

Yes, they did, and pull four hour shifts.  And they made it look so easy.  Pros.
