@freakygirl A few years ago, QVC offered some cutters that would cut anything. They look like scissors. They were very inexpensive. I think maybe about $5 each. I bought a bunch of those to give as Christmas gifts. My DIL's say that those were the cheapest and yet the most appreciated gifts I have ever given them, that they use them far more than the beautiful crystal and silver gifts I have given them.

@StylishLady Also remember when people were opening bottles of medication (Tylenol was the first I recall) and injecting poisonous pills in them. The company got a really bad name for poisoning their meds and it turned out there was a culprit doing this to other medicines as well and everyone went to the difficult-to-open packaging to prevent such recurrence to any items we purchase and especially when it is handled by so many coming from China to (how many places do your clothing items go before they reach your final destination) you.

Like other posters, I keep scissors and a box cutter handy, and don't drive myself crazy trying to leave packaging intact. I have found some packaging can't be opened without cutting up something. This is done by design by vendors who won't allow return of opened packages. If they allow returns, the fact that you cut the packaging open does not affect the ability to return. QVC and any other vendors I use don't require returns to be in original packaging except where they don't allow opened packages to be returned. Almost everyone allows return or exchange of defective items even after they are opened. If they don't, I don't buy.

@StylishLady Great idea for sales. Please show a chainsaw in each presentation to open your new packages. That cracked me up--Thanks

I do not have so many issues with transportation packaging, but I have a really hard time opening some of the bottles of liquids - like serums.
The tops are vacuum packed with clear shrink wrap. I understand that they are wrapped so that they won't leak.
Those screw tops are usually very small and I usually end up using some little, pointed, sharp scissors. But I have cut into my fingers at times.
I truly have said some nasty words trying to get that da*m wrap off!!

I have those shears. They are made by Kuhn Rikon and they cut through just about anything with ease. Great purchase as you say.

Why try to save packaging for return when returns are not making it back to QVC? I have returned two items and cannot track them! If I cannot be sure that my returns are safely getting back and I will receive a refund there is no way that I can shop at QVC anymore!
