Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

Welcome @cassielynn5 !  I enjoyed reading your ideas & thoughts & agree that new new new products should be brought in regularly along with percent off coupons to all.

I don't understand why some think a first time poster can't speak their mind. Is there some rule that first timers are only allowed to say "certain" respectful, worshipping, adoring thoughts?  I welcome anything a first timer wants to say.

This is why so many hesitate to finally post on here only to be jumped on for giving their opinion. It took me years of lurking to finally post & only say innocuous things for quite some time so I wouldn't be attacked.

WELCOME @cassielynn5 & don't let the nasties keep you away.

@Puzzle Piece  It is beyond me why they pay two hosts for time slots? Some hosts are obviously unprepared and don't give incentives to order and necessary details I know are on line but I am not looking it all up.  They choose to as you say, act silly and yak. I change the channel!

Synchrony Bank CC isn't great either. I no longer have one I had 30 years due to cancelling all my accounts  this Fall due to a major credit card fraud. I had NO say in it. The hassle to reopen that is another story as not worth it. Ordered less. People dropped out when forced to pay for mailed bills.

Q doesn't seem to have the CS and shipping, return processing isn't what it used to be. I seem to have gotten more incorrect items. Hit or miss. People's suggestions and concerns are blown off. Loyal customers have had enough and shop elsewhere for the Quality, Value and Convience Q used to promote. I used to look for new, innovative products and learn great ideas and tips.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

As @THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes wrote upthread, QVC has already decided on the direction they will be taking.

 As someone who has been in large corporation retail for 30+ years, it takes years to make small changes to said corporation's operating strategy.  They have spent a few years with external consultants and came up with a strategy their board of directors approved.

While I find it amusing when any customer (including me) thinks their preferences appeal to the masses, things like decreasing food shows (when we know they're very profitable for QVC) or adding "bras and lower cut tops" will just result in other detractors.  The complaints will then be about price or clothes most wouldn't wear.  The younger generations will never watch QVC, they're about social media.

By the way, the most profitable items are those vertical merchandising lines, ie house brands.  The margins are probably 30% higher than an outside vendor.  It's a proven formula for success in retail, consider the Gap.  There are however, tons of items on the website that don't make the air because of quantities available or prices that wouldn't appeal to those watching.

 Can't please everyone so of course QVC is going with what sells.

First, I appreciate what you said about HSN. I need to check it out.

My suggestion is to cap host salaries at 200 grand. They get so much free stuff from vendors anyways. Granted, that alone wouldn't save a big organization, but then the people selling stuff might be more relatable to the customers.

@Beammeupscotty

Was just thinking the same thing.  Reminds me of the many people on social media who became epidemiologists during the height of COVID 19.

EXACTLY!  And well said!  Reading thru this thread I had the same thoughts. And this "new" member might have been around far longer than anyone else on this thread.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

The OP brought up may ideas that have been discussed before. No reason for negative comments for someone articulating them in their first post.

And if shopping channels were such a thing of the past, why would Amazon develop one. The difference being there products are discussed, then they move on to the next. No endlesss droning on for half an hour on one item. Seldom more than one person in the shot. They seem interested in selling, and not QVC's concept of entertaining.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

I did not read the replies because I don't spend time worrying about fixing a t.v. shopping channel.  I am more concerned about local economies and all of the stores that are continuing to close and people losing their jobs and how it affects the local towns.  It has a domino affect and it's not good at all.

@WRXtoo

You're right.

A new "member" to this forum doesn't necessarily mean that they are a new "customer" to QVC.
