Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

Qurate has already determined what it's going to do.

It first will rebrand as "The QVC Group" and shift its focus to social media to drive traffic to the website or app.   More focus on established influencers, story telling produced for social media along with  celebrities and celebrity brands.

Inevitably,  to me, this means an elimination of costly broadcast and cable distribution and the old traditional role of host will become extinct.  Viewership on cable is down dramatically and the plug will be pulled eventually for the company to survive.

I agree about the shift in business platform.  But.......

Q clings to the old ways that worked to drive broadcast based sales but will not work with streaming or site based. Such as the secret of the TSV. You must be here at Midnight--oh my!

Same format will not fit the vision of change that Q is searching for.

Stop playing the demos over and over. Stop squeezing the coffee cake or pulling apart the rib meat. Old way

We don't need to talk about a can opener for 12 minutes. That's the old model. When I shop on Amazon, I can see a video for many products. Couple of minutes and I think I got it!

They stumbled onto to entertainment value a long time ago with Kathy L and Joan R. And there was the Boyds Bear Guy and Kirks Folly. There was 50-50 tour and theme day such as Irish or Klondike Gold. Nolan Miller was a delight -just to name one. They even have IM rambling on and on. How many more versions of Pima Cotton do we have to endure?

QVC may have aspirations to be a different company but it is stuck in the past and blames supply chain, inflation or the warehouse burned down. Retailers are dropping like flies.

I do have to smile at all of the "business experts" on this thread.

I highly doubt most have any real world business experience...especially with a national retail company.

I have no new suggestions.

But I will say that DH wishes that QVC would go out of business, lol!

@cassielynn5 Nonsense like this from a "new member" isn't worth my time to read. So I didn't. Get a hobby.

So many negative comments. Its just what I have observed the past few years. Along with what everyone else nitpicks about. But seems everyone is fine with the same thing day after day and endless food. I want QVC to survive and that requires change, but I guess its doomed. Sorry for making this post and wasting all of your time. I would delete it if I could. Guess I will just log off or delete this account. Goodbye.

@cassielynn5  Don't stop posting because you get negative responses. Many are open to new ideas and suggestions.

Their pricing is out of line with many retailers. They have many items that have been reduced substantially so they can clear out their inventory. If the PTB had priced  less

in the beginning, inventory would move faster. .I know they try to get the most they can but sometimes it discourages potential buyers.  Many retailers offer many incentives to customers to encourage purchasing.  This is a wait and see game.

I agree with @elated @it was some good food for thought! Who knows what the right answer is and only time will tell. I can say this....I was curious about the responses and I checked in a few times today to read this topic. I for one enjoyed it @cassielynn5! The world is changing daily and new ideas and thoughts are coming!

@Love my grandkids

So, "nonsense" from  a "new member" isn't worth your time to read, but it's worth your time to post such a nasty response?  If you didn't read it, how did you deem it to be "nonsense"??

The only way I see any of the TV shopping channels surviving is by being strictly online like Lord & Taylor.  They all were a novelty when they began 40+ years ago but they have been surpassed by other retailers.  Like Woolworth's, Sears and others they cannot adapt to new ways of selling. The days of all of them are numbered.

A "new member" ( whatever that means;  member of what?) has as much of a right to post thoughts and ideas and observations as someone with 15,000 or 60,000 posts!

The Welcome Wagon seems to be determined to drive out newer participants for whatever reasons, to the detriment of these forums overall, which need more new viewpoints.
