Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

The only younger brands left seem to be women with control and nydj. Even their athletic brand zuda left. Susan/Kim/Isaac are nice but they tend to be more pant suits, like stuff for the office instead of going out to a party with. Sometimes they will offer skinny/bootcut jeans or a flattering dress in the summer. But they are locked into pajamas with their house brands for the most part. As they think no one leaves their house with remote work or retirees. When in fact we do go outside and soicalize. Id just like lighter clothes overall to be shown, instead of all the heavy bulky pj's. Even some short skirts or a low cut top would be nice but they are afraid to show any skin or curves. Guess thats why they got rid of all their yoga/athletic wear too.

BTW:  Take alook at the specials today:  Rhinestone slip on old lady shoes and an oversized cotton tunic sweater.  Need i say more?

Not sure there is a market for the tv shopping anymore....make a deal with CBS or CNN or PBS or NFL.... the powers can work out a deal with the powers that be and use our tax dollars and other public funding...just like they always do -- to bail them out.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

One thing I would do is find out how many of the sales actually come from watching tv.  It is a shopping channel but I have never sat down and watched it for longer than a few minutes.   I may stop while channel surfing but usually use the website if I want something.

@cassielynn5

  I agree with a lot of what you say, especially about big blocks of food, jewelry and vaccum cleaner shows. So boring!

   For example, I for one am not interested in seeing premade foods being presented for hours on end or at all, really. It's mostly just a bunch of expensive ultraprocessed junk food.

   Yes, It would be nice if they focused on adding more new and unique products. I agree they do need more youthful (not Hello Kitty youthful) clothing and variety.

    Also, to compete with Amazon and the like (like previously said) Qvc needs to work on their shipping speeds and free shipping would be nice(maybe not possible but nice).

Yes, QVC would do better to focus on these and other issues instead of sending high paid hosts on location, which does nothing for me.

    Saying this, I so hope Qvc is able to survive these crazy times for retail  because I've been a long time customer and I do enjoy a lot of it still. I do love the fashion, skincare/makeup and home interior shows.

    I like seeing things I can't commonly find in stores around me and I love being able to "see" a product presented live or on video because with regular online stores you just see a still picture.

They could start by assessing the salaries some of these hosts make. You have one bragging about spending $500 on a blanket throw while they peddle the $29 ones to us. Then another, if you look at her selfie photo she is carrying a Prada bag....and how many of them have 2 homes: summer homes, beach homes, additional homes in FL or the west coast and dont forget the host that flies to FL several times a month. Being a TV sales person does not mean you are TV stars and they should not be paid as such.

People on tv make big bucks.  It's what they get paid.  People aren't paid for what they do, but what their skill is and what the market is in their field.  TV hosts make a zillion times more than the crew that puts out the fire in your kitchen.  It is what it is.  I don't begrudge people on tv for what they make. When people steal a pack of gum that I do have a problem with.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

I'm not sure it can be saved. They have strayed too far from what they used to be. Even though I am retired now and no longer have the pennies to spend, I will buy if there is something I need. QVC spends an inordinate time focusing on individual items. Show me and move on. And, they must be reasonably priced. They also have the most ridiculous hideous clothing items such as wild prints, distressed items and way too many wide leg pants. No...no! Give me clean lines and simple tailored items.

I find myself going more and more to Amazon for a variety of items nowadays because I just can't find the things I want in the local marketplaces or anywhere else. Amazon usually has a variety of prices too. I will also do a general internet search to see what's for sale everywhere else.

Also cut down on christmas, no one wants to think about winter in july, we want beachwear.

I beg to differ on that statement. I live in Arizona and long for winter when it's 110 plus for months on end.

@cassielynn5   Have no idea what your age is but I am willing to bet money that the bulk of QVC shoppers are most likely retirement ageor close to it. QVC does not cater to the younger age groups like Gen X and Millennials. You said that QVC should offer more bras. You can go to any store that sells clothing and find a wide variety of bras. As for shorter skirts and low cut tops I doubt that these products would sell well on QVC. It sounds like you would be better off shopping in B&M stores not a TV shopping channel.

The only reason that QVC would drop a line of clothing is if it doesn't sell well. They are not going to stop showing products that sell. Like bras, yoga and athletic wear can be found anywhere.

@katie1859 Re: Container Store

Example of just dumb business leadership.

I got a email about 20% off. Went to the store and at the checkout I asked it that total was with the 20%. Clerk with head bowed said no that is for curb side only. She said you are not the first one.

Really, a business on the verge of Chapter 11 and this is your plan to juice sales.

QVC is a retail business store with a very poor business plan.

They have decided that their business advantage is to entertain its customers with celebrities real and created. Never mind that they do not know their target audience. Their products, prices and service miss all the necessary elements of a successful business.
