I had started watching QVC last year in summer. I'm past retail management person so the concept and personalities I understand. It's tv.
But I see a trend and it's not aimed at Jen C but other personalities on and off QVC.
There is this trend in women approaching 50 and beyond who are going to remarry. IT becomes this engagement story and phase. Honestly, for anyone down the route again, just get married and stop with the young woman attention. To me it's nonsense. Have some respect, or class.
I watched Jen today, no doubt she's getting attention, and excitement but it really loses its balance on the show, and I cannot get on board with the narcissism.

@katie1859 Funny, I think it's narcissistic to think others should bow to their ideas on decorum. Joy has no age limit.

I totally agree with you. These people have children and may have previous marriages. They are middle-aged and need to keep their private lives private. If she wanted to say she got engaged and leave it at that I would have no problem. But the giddy behavior is not age appropriate.

It's not decorum, but what you do personally doesn't have to incorporate TV, the broadcast etc.
Have joy but we live in a culture of turning things about us to us and it is narcissism.

Are we involved with QVC as a very convenient shopping method or has it become about the lives of the entertainers who sell the products. If so, then it would explain the decline in QVC.

Do we know who she's engaged to?  Seems a while back she was dating a jewelry vendor ... or is this someone else?

Based on all the hoopla and snide comments made when Lisa R got engaged, I would expect half the posters here would be delving deep into this man's past history.   (Oh, sorry, I'm assuming it's a man).

I am happy for her if she is happy.  But at 61 and having been divorced since I was 38 years old, I could not imagine living with some man again, love and giddiness or not.  My roof my rules, my remote control.

Congrats Jen if you must.

I wish Jen well and hopefully she'll continue her Joy.  Unfortunately I have a huge problem watching her and engagement or not, I still do.  I avoid her shows and I will continue to do so, but at the same time, I wish her well in her new marriage.

Congratulations rto Jen!

Sadly, for me, I've never met anyone if I did, decorum. Schmercorum. I would be yelling from the rooftops. I'd have no trouble showing off my ring, and I'm a lefty so I'd find ways to do it often. I'd have a very small wedding, but I'd be a ****** princess that one day. To me, you are only as old as you feel, and there is no one right way to be.

Did not see her on air today, but she should keep her private life private while on air. She posted several pictures before the surprise trip and engagement pics so that should be enough for those who are interested in her private life. I'm happy for her but don't need to hear every detail.
