@CLEM

Of course you're right!  Unfortunately, I didn't think of the windshield covers until after the free s&h day.

For those in love with Amazon Prime---Studies have said that Amazon Prime is only worth it if you make 25 purchases or more in a year.  Heres what business experts said about the $119 Prime fee..Oh and BTW make sure you comparison shop because Amazon isnt always necessarily the lowest price either...

(P.S. now if you are enamored with other perks of Prime, not just shipping, it might be worth it to you).................

The biggest feature that’s included with Amazon Prime is its free, two-day shipping, which the company says is offered on hundreds of millions of items, along with same-day delivery on some items. But that’s not the only way to get stuff shipped to you to for free. If you don’t mind waiting a bit longer, non-Prime members can receive items in five to eight days with a $35 minimum order.

Competitors like Target and Walmart have upped the ante by offering free, two-day shipping on orders over $35, without any subscriptions.

If you want to see how often you really use your Prime shipping benefits, you can download a copy of everything you’ve ordered from Amazon in the last couple of years. When I looked at mine, I found that I did most of my shopping right before Christmas. So if you’re mostly using Prime around the holidays, you can actually just subscribe to it by the month for $13 and then cancel it after the new year.

Amazon already offers free standard shipping on orders over $25 to every Amazon member. If you typically order more than $25 worth of merchandise and aren’t in the habit of using expedited shipping, Prime shipping benefits may be more of a convenience than a cost saver for you.

We’d also note that, to compete with Amazon, Walmart recently introduced free two-day shipping on orders greater than $25. If you’re purely interested in the bottom line, Walmart may be the better place to shop – you can get expedited shipping on low-priced merchandise without having to pay a $119 membership fee.

Is Amazon Prime worth it :

  • You must buy at least 10 items that you need or want to get with 2-day shipping (I'm a last-minute birthday gift shopper, so this is the perk I need the most)
  • You buy at least 25 items that cost under $35, since you need a $35 minimum order for free shipping without Prime. With Prime, the shipping is included with no minimum order amount required.

Watching the Flameless Candle show yesterday.... several items were free s/h, 1 particular candle on clearance, BUT s/h was $5.50!! I was about to order, since I thought maybe everything was free s/h. I didn't when I saw the cost.

@PatriciaG

Oh I know....my pkg is person to person and will arrive quickly.  As oppossed to QVC return labels which take a full month or more for me to see my credit.

My only point was that USPS rates have gone sky high.  Those higher costs are passed on to us by every company!

@RespectLife, rates are nuts. That's why I find it hard to believe anyone is returning anything cheaper to QVC than the return label fee.

A few weeks ago I had to return a pair of shooties to Evine. They didn't provide a return label so I had to pay myself.  The absolute cheapest method to return the boots cost me over $10.00.

Not only are the shipping & handling fees ridiculously high, they charge individual shipping for items and put more than one in the same box...go figure....and let us not forget how extremely SLOW the shipping is.  I don't even think they make an effort to get items shipped so that they arrive anywhere near the EDD.  Most times if I order stuff, it sits "in process" until the day before the EDD.  I too, like many others on this board find myself shopping at places like Amazon and other retailers that offer free shipping.

Looks like jewelry is now being shipped via UPS smartpost; however at least in my neck of the woods UPS delivers these packages. Not complaining, just wonder if this change is only for the Holiday's. Maybe too many complaints about USPS. Does seem to take a lot longer when things are shipped USPS.

@this is my nic- Did you finally order all the Frostguards you wanted during these two days of free shipping?

I have them for our three vehicles, but I'm ordering a new one for my truck that sits outside, just because they've added the second flap to tuck into the door.  I've been thinking of trying to stitch one on my existing one, because the wind whips it up.  It's easier to just order a new one and I'll donate my current one to someone else!
