@this is my nic  Last week on Saturday, 11/10, they had free shipping on all items on air and on line.  That would have been a good day to place your order.

And just before that recently on a Sunday.  You have to watch for those promos!!

Having said that....I just went to USPS to mail a very small box with 2) 16oz bags of Special Coffee to my niece.

Cost $9.90 just to go from Buffalo to Philly!  I wasn't sending it to Siberia for heaven's sake and it was NOT very heavy at all!  The coffee shop would have sent it for $7.95 but I thought...Oh no, I can do better myself.  DUH!

Can't blame Q for the crazy cost of postage or UPS these days.

Do you shop Amazon? Thye are on clearance for 19.99 and if you have Prime, the shipping is free.

Or sign up for Prime _$12.99/mo and cancel once they ship.

There are some gift items, relatively inexpensive in cost, which customers might buy in quality.  The frost guard is an example....something anyone could use as long as he owns a car.  They need some sort of special shipping category for these items if they expect us to buy quanities of them.  People need a break on those shipping costs.

I dont know why QVC cant do "buy more and save" on certain items like they do for clothes.(basically its the shipping cost taken off on subsequent items)....

What floors me is what they charge for shipping a handbag---usually $11 or $12 ...WOW!!!

I agree.  I think Amazon Prime is so worth it.  Things are shipped immediately and returns are free.  You can also return items to Kohls and get a receipt for the return.

@RespectLife  - At least with the USPS, you are shipping directly.  With QVC, if you are returning something using their labels which you are charged for, returns can take up to a month as USPS holds the item for a week waiting for whoeveto come and pick up.  That is why it is so hard to track anything with QVC.

This topic has been complained about in a regular basis.  Today, it hit me.

I like to give my grown children an extra gift that I hope they'll use and enjoy.

This year it was going to be windshield covers.  Even though everyone has a 2 car garage, no vehicles make it into the garage. However, the cost of s&h stopped me from placing the order.  What happened to the Q's policy on giving s&h breaks if more than one item of the same thing was ordered? I had 6 of the same item going to one address and the s&h was the same for each.

I'll buy them elsewhere!

@this is my nic  QVC Just had a free shipping day just a week ago. Why did you not buy them  on that day?

The discount on shipping for  a second item has been gone for quite some time.  Target has free shipping at any amount of order, I think.  With a Target card you also get 5% off on purchases.  I ordered two heavy items on Wednesday afternoon and they arrived today--Friday.  I placed a Walmart order today (free shipping) and it will be here tomorrow.

Prime is only a good deal if their carrier also known as LaserShip does not just drop a package anywhere they feel like it in multifamily developments. This is why I stopped purchasing from them.

I don't mind paying shipping but when I do that means delivery to my door, not s third party location. Maybe the new CFO Q recently hired will be able to do something about shipping.

I won't order anything large (package size) from Amazon anymore, despite having Prime, after a recent fiasco.

I posted about it on another thread at the time, but essentially my new rural carrier couldn't fit it in his vehicle, so I had to drive to the post office and get it into my own car (unaided).  This was a ClosetMaid kit for redoing my main closet!

I contacted Amazon about it, requesting that in future they ship straight UPS instead of Surepost and they said they were "unable" to specify the carrier.  REALLY?  A company with the power of Amazon?  Never again.  There are plenty of companies who sell the same things, that will deliver to my door.

(Contacted the head of the Post Office, too, and they did nothing but send an automated response, then a survey asking how happy I was with their response!  I told them nothing was done about the situation and never heard another word.  Useless.  The local post office told me that, if I couldn't have picked it up myself, they would've held it for the required 15 days, then returned it to the vendor.)
