Re: UNIVERAL FONT SIZE?

[ Edited ]

Since my 2 macular  hole eye surgies, I switch between font sizes 2 & 3.

I do believe what people see depends on the size of their comp screens & mobile devices.  My iMac has a 27" screen.  My MBP has a 15" screen.  The font sizes in this forum looks different on both computers.

As for colors, I switch around from time to time.  I mostly use bold because its easier to read.  My eyes are still on the long road to recovery.

The folks here who use smaller print, I just increase/enlarge their fonts through my browser menu.  So it's not really an issue for me.

I admit that I'm too lazy to bother changing it...

Don't know why they think the board members want to learn how to use a word processor!

What is there to learn?  To me it's just show & tell.  Most if not all message boards gives you "click" options in the Preferences settings & the reply windows on how you want your messages displayed.

The only time I've ever strayed from the default font is for emphasis, and I think I've done that only once or twice.

I'm a simple person. I don't like different fonts, especially within one post; I don't like colors; and I don't like posts that are in bold because I tend to bold a portion of a poster's comment when I reply.

I use 3 now because some used to tell me that my font was too small to read.

The weird thing was, mine looked  larger to me than theirs or others!

I think that as @Mz iMac-

we see the fonts totally differently depending on the device we are using.

Still, I guess 2 or above (but not gigantic) works for most I hope.

I think colors are easier to read too so I use them a lot. And then again, others don't like colors.

Certainly no need to apologize to me, @Shanus. I hardly expect everybody to abide by my preferences. :-)

@Shanus, on mobile setting there is no choice, but it looks to be about 3+. This is written in mobile.
In Full setting I like to use size 4 in my chosen font. (Lucinda)
BUT size 4 in my favorite font may be either larger or smaller than 4 in your favorite font. So size 4 in a bigger font might look huge, whereas size 4 in a smaller type font might look considerably smaller. So it really takes some experimentation.

Your blue is readable on my mobile device as long as the lighting isn't reflecting as glare, but a deeper shade would give more contrast with the background and be easier to read. Some colors offer little or no contrast with the grayish background of my view, making them impossible to read, even with ideal lighting.
