Does it bother anyone else when you get an email from QVC asking if you forgot about an item you were viewing? I find it incredibly creepy and invasive that someone is watching what I look at and whether or not I choose to purchase it. I contacted QVC about it once before and it seemed to stop, but it appears with the new year it is starting again. This latest was about an item that I had in fact purchased, but went back a day later to look at one of the details of the item. Today I receive an "OOPS did you forget this item?"

@cactuschic I get those emails as well...and I really don't like it at all. Feels like Big Brother is watching.

I review my personal emails by subject. Anything I have no interest in is deleted, then I read what's left. So the oops emails usually don't make it to the read part.

@cactuschic Big brother IS watching! I get those emails from QVC also along with any cruises, airlines or hotels I may have been investigating for a potential vacation. Within minutes of my being on their website, I'll get a popup or an email about it. It is truly scary. How do they know I've been on their website and what I've been looking at? Life in the 21st century, I guess!

Quite a few websites do that, if you give them your email you are going to hear from them.

Every online site where I shop does exactly what the OP has described. It's part of shopping online and not in the least creepy unless you have a vivid imagination.

I hate the invasion of privacy. If I want something ,I will buy it. If you push me, I'll walk away. Get out of my inbox!

These are all just anonymous computer programs, absolutely no human is involved. No one is spying on you.

Internet "cookies" have been keeping track of what you do since the 1990's.
Since the first day you entered the "World Wide Web" you've been "watched".
Sweet dreams. ![]()
Seriously, QVC has always known what you've been viewing. They have just decided to use it in their marketing to try and make a sale.
They gotta make that money somehow. By any means possible.

A lot of places do that and I don't like it. Some ask you to 'Please Come Back' when I wish they'd go away.
