I can understand why QVC needs extraordinary incentives to entice new customers, even though I don't like the way they treat those of us who've been around awhile.

There is little to interest any customer, old or new with the same repetitious merchandise year in and out, time after time.  It's like there's a regular schedule of vacuum cleaners, mattresses, electronics chargers, cosmetics, computers, etc. TSVs.  Where are those innovative new products the CEO promised wed have as TSVs?

Then there are the presentations that go on and on hour after hour, seemingly endlessly.  If someone is interested in a product, she might sit through all or part of one presentation but then the TV goes off.  There are days that make QVC seem like one long, drawn out infomercial.  If one is not interested in the featured product, that person is lost for the entire day.

Is there any wonder new customers aren't flocking to register on QVC?  You don't have to buy merchandise to be bored; there are cheaper ways.

I honestly don't feel this Free Shipping thing will work out and this is why. My kids, mid 30's, do not buy from QVC. Now, granted, they will come over and the Q will be on TV and they become mesmerized. My SIL came over once when that blender thing was a TSV. He sat and watched it for about 20 minutes and said wow, I don't even want one but the host has sold me on it making me feel I need it. This has happened many times, visitors become entranced for a bit watching it.

Well, not one has opened an account and purchased anything. They never watch it at home. They go to Amazon, or some other site, and make a purchase from them. They have no interest, free shipping or not, in watching and buying from QVC.

I have bought many items, I mean 1,000's over the last 30+ years I have been a customer. I consistently get comments about the cool gifts I give and am asked where did I find these gifts. I have worked with many people before retiring, they loved my gifts and would be so excited about them. Of course, they ask where I got them. Not one co-worker ever told me they opened an account with QVC.

And, I think many here on this forum are missing the point regarding how upset long time customers are. It's not about the shipping being reasonable. Yes, it is as far as actual shipping goes. It's about excluding the loyal customers. Some even said they will buy an item and pay S&H so they aren't bothered by being excluded in this offer. However, if a new customer would buy 2 sets of the LocknLock TSV's they would get the sets for $50. A loyal customer w/o a Q card would pay $61 and can continue at this rate for 3 months (or up to 15 purchases). IMO an offer would have been a little easier to accept if a new customer received a One Time Only Free Shipping Offer.

I don't feel the reason are all up in arms is respect, as long as they get their incentives along with the new cardholder customers.  It's "oh she's getting what I don't get."

If it were not for the loyal customers there wouldn't be a QVC...

They are giving everyone with a q card free shipping on all TSVs til 10/31. It's something, anyway.

I’ve been thinking. I’ve been with QVC since the beginning and buy a fair amount. But I can’t honestly call myself a “loyal” customer.

To me, a loyal customer is someone who buys from store A, even though they may be able to buy the same item from store B for less money, because their loyalty lies with store A. That’s not me. I buy from QVC mostly for the convenience, gas savings, time savings, etc.

I think the loyalty term in this case is being used very loosely. A better term may be existing, versus loyal, customers. That being said, I do find this promotion for new customers difficult to overlook and I too as an existing customer, am not happy about it.

I don’t think free s/h on TSV’s through October is enticing. Who buys the TSV everyday?? Besides that, the new customers will have that perk through January, provided they stay within their 15 order limit of course.

Even if QVC gave us a wonderful incentive everyone would be happy with, it wouldn't interest me. I'm looking for high quality unique and interesting products, quality classic clothing by real fashion designers, not what QVC buyers tell them to design.

I have no opinion on this free shipping deal except that I am sick of scrolling past all the threads about it, and my FB feed is filled with them from the Q FB page for me; shipping is part of the gig. I can't tell you how many times I have paid $25 and up and all my orders came in one box. I accept it, but I will say HSN just did a month of TSVs with free shipping and no card needed.  Right now, they are doing free shipping over $75.00.

Free shipping never entices me. I didn't buy a TSV when HSN had it, the Q just had free shipping and I haven't purchased anything to qualify for $75.00 at HSN.

I have a Q card and had no idea this incentive was in place!  Don't think it would have changed anything I purchased, but it's good to know.

@Kachina624   I'm torn on this newest promotion the Q is giving to new customers for shipping as I understand they need to get more/new customers but what about us that have been here from almost the beginning.

A couple years ago some customers received free mugs from the Q & then others received a package of chocolates - I received neither & yes they do offer free shipping days every so often which I often take advantage of.

Like you said the new CEO promised new vendors, products, tsvs but what I notice is the same products/vendors over/over again so I watch less & less.
