@Kachina624 I didn't take @SandySparkles to mean anything about senility at all.
I think it is very obvious who makes the overwhelming majority of those calls though. It seems 99% come in from seniors who's first priority is to talk to their favorite host who they've watched since day 1. Those are the calls I always hear anyway.
The callers feel the family & friends connection with the host. Talking about the actual item is practically an after thought.
I mean, how does, "I got the blue one," actually help a shopper?
Here is Sandy's post:
"🤔 I think they are targeting a specific mature demographic for whom that sales tactic proved to be successful many sunsets ago, or perhaps testing the waters with its younger viewership. It OBVIOUSLY is not working with everyone."
She not talking about those who make the testimonials but who they affect. She infers the senior demographic falls for them and they influence their buying.

And those calls on the Irish programs---they all have Irish ancestry.

I've noticed that too---I hate those stupid calls!! Who cares!! None of them has made me run to order anything-- -

I like the testimonials- its fun to hear the different regional accents ![]()

They all sound like the same older lady with a country accent.

Add me to the list of could care less about hearing the testimonial calls. It does nothing for me. Does not make me order the item. Does not make me feel like the host is my friend. It is just a time to change the channel or get a drink like I do when a commercial comes on on regular tv.
I would not miss them if they stopped the calls all together.

I hit the mute button when the testimonials come on.

I agree. The calls are beyond cringeworthy. I turn the channel when they come on because I just don't like them. I end up finding something better to watch and just turn back to Q.

Definitely make me immediately mute the TV. In this morning's fashion show, the caller, Leah, and Kim were all talking at the same time and cackling. I'm a morning person but don't care for unnecessary noise while I'm having my coffee. I would prefer to have the callers call the vendor personally and share all their trials and tribulations and love with only them. The gravelly voices and some apparently who are drinking do not make me want to listen--at all!
