They didn't want to disappoint the people that bought almost 300,000 (three hundred thousand), so far, of today's special value or those that caused 8-10 of VPH's items to sell out.

You mean like the plethora of cool, breezy fall fashions that have been dominating programming recently?

I actually enjoy the summer Christmas themed shows...because it is still sort of a bit of a novel thing....that is...BEFORE it becomes the Christmas QVC-tv deathmarch. 

After August, I am looking forward to fall decor (and there is not much of that since Q only sells it a short, short time) and all I get from probably most of September on is Christmas Christmas Christmas, gifts!!!!, and the spiel about getting everyone from your hairdresser to dog catcher to UPS guy a gift. I would love to have the budget to give all these people gifts...actually..I would love to be able to afford a hairdresser, a dog walker, etc. 

In the end, I still shop here because of Easy pay to spread out the payments a little to buy my children and family one practical gift long before Christmas. I ordered (and got) a ballerina doll for my daughter and it sold out not long after...if we were closer to Christmas, I doubt there would be easypay or it would have disappeared even faster. 

Early shopping is best for some of us and helps budgets. I won't be watching much gift shows after August, it does get old fast. And who needs all those tiny gimmicky, cheap China-made flashlights and other detritus? Not me. My kids have enough ****** toys. 

This year it is a nice blanket for each of their beds, plus a dolly for my little girl and a dolly bed for her. I love having it all done early and I have months to leasurely wrap it all.

I'm inclused in that 300,000 TSV number. I have the ones for indoor, so glad these are outoor. I will put them along with my wreath on the railing of my front steps.

I was a child during the Dark Ages when Christmas decorations were not seen until the day after Thanksgiving.  Stores would paper over their windows so the magic going on couldn't be observed.  The day after Thanksgiving, the paper came down and the decorations were revealed!  Santa was welcomed into town escorted by the high school band.  The big department store had mini Macy's type animated scenes.  For us children, the time until Christmas seemed forever!  I don't know how children of today stay excited for months;  it doesn't seem possible.
