@WORKING GAL wrote:I watched Tova a few nights ago late at night in California. She continued to say how the Tova Signature perfume has 28% essential oils and how long lasting it is. I was a Tova Signature loyal customer for decades ad I'm sorry but it is not the same as it was and does not last. Her long time customers know what is smelled like and how you could see the essential oils on our skin and the scent even lasted days later on your clothes. I know she is there to sell but it is unfair to keep insisting that it has remained the same all these years when has not. It was my favorite fragrance and I am sad and angry that it has changed so drastically, many of the the reviews are not good and Tova and QVC does nothing to bring back the original. QVC is losing a lot of customers because of the change. Tova, please, please bring back the orignal long lasting fragrance.
II agree, I purchased a solid perfume compact. She raved about the essential oils. At first it smelled really nice and in a few weeks the scent went away,

Unfortunately it is throughout the Perfume Industry. I wore Estee Lauder's Estee for over 30 years and one day DH wanted to know if I still wore it (he loved it) and yes, I had it on and we were leaving the house... hardly any scent. I then switched to a Chanel fragrance (surely that would have more staying power), but no.... same as the Estee. I then started asking around "What is causing this?? Why are manufacturers changing their formulations? ...... I was told it had something to do with the oils. So that would make sense (staying power is directly related to the quality of oils. What doesn't make sense are the prices still being charged for lesser quality oils..... but this is a Industry standard change.
I really miss the old Estee..... and so does DH. ![]()

I am not sure when the government mandated the change in the manufature of perfume but I certainly notice the lack of staying power with Chanel. My Coco and Chanel #5 smell the same as before but after 30 minutes no smell at all. I have a bottle of YSL Paris this is delicious and it is at least 7 years old and has good staying power. I guess I just won't buy perfum anymore. Not going to spend the $$ on Chanel to have it last no longer than it does.

@50Mickey ITA. Luckily, several yrs. ago when Sephora had their 20% deal, I purchased 2 sm.backup bottles of my Chanel #5. I’ve kept it in the box in a dark closet.

It's the perfume industry that sets regulations. They have banned ingredients for for a variety of reasons. One is that some of them involved animal cruelty. Others involved some potential irritation to the user.
I personally have no problem with these regulations. But that may be because I prefer somewhat more modern frags anyway.
