I agree, Nancy says the vendors first name over and over and over during the presentation. Please stop!

Re: THE DOWNFALL OF QVC

[ Edited ]

Though having no intention of entering this convo when it began, I became rather caught up in it when I saw how active it was. So here is my take on "The Downfall of QVC."

There's a conspicuous lack of live models and pertinent information for their clothing. A  view of the item taken from "dot com" can be seen already on "dot com." The hosts used to show the inside of an item, the neckline, the hem of a top, information on cuff (if long sleeve) and fit info. There were usually 3 or at least 2 models who would walk across the set, turn slowly so you could see clothing from side and back.  No more. There is petting, chat about where to wear something or if you can wear a necklace with it, personal stories or chit chat with off-site vendors,  and updates on how many of each color are left vs how many were brought in, told it's the only order of the year, et al. And, "let's go over the colors again"...

It can't be due to any pandemic precautions either, or else HSN would not be presenting clothing with 2 or 3 models.

Don't even want to comment on the mattress, vacuum, favorite "beauty" items, kitchen or food shows, and certainly don't want to get into the individual host stuff or shipping and exchange issues. I will give the IT/website topic an honorable mention for the spontaneous bouts of inaccesability to the website, and their pricing algorithms for inscrutablility.

The Q does have mostly pretty good customer service, and I've had excellent help from the moderators here. So, not all bad!

The naysayers are pretty unhappy about the turnaround 3rd quarter financial performance.

I just read in the Phila Biz Journal the profits this quarter fromQq and HSN are way up.

@They CallMe MRWILKES  it really shut some of them up even though some are waiting to see what happens next. Maybe they are thinking this was just a fluke.

I agree. I believe the main idea of booting Carolyn and Dan was due to their ages. I get the feeling too, that QVC is trying to cater to a younger audience to ensure future sales and success. But younger people are busy, working, raising kids, and their time is so limited already that they don't have time to sit and watch QVC for hours like older adults do. And if the young folks want to order something, then they order it online, from amazon, Wayfair, Chewy, etc. They have a few minutes to look at items, decide and order. Done! QVC presentations are aimed at informing and entertaining the potential buyer. Young people are just not interested. Advertising dollars should be spent on sites that the younger.people frequent, including I heart radio, credit cards for QVC should be marketed towards younger people also. I miss Carolyn and Dan both and I am just a little hurt that QVC took away two "friends" that I no longer get to see and hurting people is not the way to curry loyalty to the brand.

I see all hosts being gone eventually and everything will be online. I really don't see the need for hosts at all.

I don't enjoy any of their lack of class . Loud screening non professional host and hostess.

I agee with so many of the posts above.  The only "new" host I sincerely like and enjoy is Terri Conn.  She is so professional in every way and a pleasure to watch.  Most of the new hosts (as well as one of the older ones who they should have gotten rid of a long time ago - you all know who I mean) are just way too loud and obnoxious for my taste.
