Yep.  I'm pretty sure that's going on a lot in LR threads. There is an anti LR trio and I'm beginning to think they are actually the same person posting and hearting each others' posts.  If it wasn't so sad, it would actually be funny.
@Lipstickdiva
Totally agree with ya.

I agree with this also. I have noticed the trio and think they are the same person.

Oh, it is so very possible!  In the 12+ years I've been here there have been numerous posters who have held more than one ID and not only that, some have even had conversations with themselves.  heh

There is one professional troll who has probably had some 100 IDs and sometimes even more than one at a time.    Trolls seem to like this place because bannings are so infrequent that they can get away with a lot.

Hi, Chickie!   Not only do they converse with themselves they also heart "each other's" posts.    I've seen it just recently, in fact.    It can be funny to watch...  but at the same time I think it's sad that someone would find a need or desire to play such games and manipulate the forum and other posters.

The saddest part, and the part that gives them glee and guarantees they'll keep right on doing it, is that nothing is ever done about it, and if a poster - or a dozen posters in the same thread - complain about it, the moderators delete all the questioning/complaining posts and leave the trolls free to laugh their butts off. That's the main reason it's so prevalent - there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for someone so inclined NOT to do it.

Hi, @Moonchilde!    I haven't been here much in the past couple of weeks, and I'm slowly trying to catch up!   I agree with you and I've seen exactly what you describe.   The only guess I have is that perhaps some of the posters are more familiar with certain posters and their patterns and can clearly identify the multiples before the moderators can.    Then, again, sometimes we're only guessing and we could be wrong...   I've been accused of using extra nicknames, and I knew that wasn't true...  and it's no fun to be wrongly accused.    In the end, those who are doing this have their own conscience to deal with...  but I still think it's sad to see it.

Some of the people have been so mean in some of their comments!

While I do agree posters can be terribly personally unkind in their comments, on any thread, the fact remains there likely are multiple nicknames posting on all sides of an issue and not just one.    Just my observation, and I don't feel strongly one way or another about LR, but it's possible that some of the "fans" as well as the "non-fans" are not valid nicknames.

I've been under the impression that some of the Lisa R fans are one and the same.

It is 3 of the detractors that are the same. Very obvious.

Probably true on both sides, and clearly an option (though it's against the Standards) for people to use these extra nicknames to support or to criticize any person or issue.    I think it's human nature to believe more strongly one side is the "culprit" or is obviously at fault if we have strong feelings about the person or issue at hand.   The fact remains that the only people with actual proof are the moderators...  we, as posters, can only offer our best guess.   Probably, if we do believe this is happening, the best recourse is to contact the Q Social Team by email with the evidence and perhaps ask them to note the patterns of specific names.    In my opinion, it's far more likely some of those who use the forums to promote a person or product are doing so with multiple nicknames because I've always felt some of them are compensated to do this.   (I'm not speaking of any specific person, product, or business, just saying this as a general observation.)    This is a common practice in today's internet and one of the reasons online reviews can be so unreliable.

Yes, I agree. I think it's especially true of most of the threads now created about Lisa Robertson. Starting the thread to draw posters to create conflict, and then fueling it. Playing BOTH SIDES. It's become very, very obvious.

But I don't think compensation is the "payoff". It's the conflict, chaos, arguing, that is the desired result and payoff. The thinly veiled personal attacks towards the vendors, hosts, and other posters. Simply, hateful & meanspirited behavior

Re: Signed in with two different names? Possible?

It definitely can be promoters or detractors. I'm not sure what rules QVC has about posters being paid to promote. You could substitute any other name for LR as it really doesn't matter who it is. The hate that is typed here is scary. She isn't kicking puppies as far as I can see.

Trying to to con people into buying things? Maybe. I hope all those supporters are smarter than that. She learned that technique at the Q. I don't think I have ever read such nastiness on these forums, that's why I have been surprised at all the remarks. (Although I have read a few super nasties on Shawns FB page).

This is an interesting point! Back around the time QVC changed it's forum structure, I was required to submit a new screen name to access/post in forums. I thought it was strange at the time but I did it. So not sure if I could still post under former screen name. It does still show up when I search my posts! I also notice others still have same name as always! It irritates me that I "fell" for changing mine!

@Gramy24,  I'm sorry you got caught in that glitch that caused several posters to modify their nickname.    If you want to change it, you can follow these steps:

1 -- Go into "My Account."

2 -- Choose  "My Nickname" (it's under "Personal Information").

3 -- You'll see your current nickname and a box to enter a new one.

4 -- Enter another name you'd prefer to have.

5 -- Click "Continue."

6 -- If it accepts the change, then log out.  (You might get a message telling you the name has previously been used, so you'll need to try a different one.)

7 -- Then log back into the Community and the change will take effect.

(A nickname change won't take effect until you log out and then back in).

hth!
