Re: Should HSN drop Jessica Simpson?

Since her mother was there with her (why?),  you'd think mom could have kept her sober at least for the duration of the show.

Re: Should HSN drop Jessica Simpson?

I saw her as I was flipping channels and she was definitely under the influence of something.  Pitiful.  I don't purchase from celebrities, so what she does makes no difference to me, but I wouldn't think a retailer would put up with this.  I guess money talks, but makes me wonder more about the customers than HSN.  How could someone watch long enough to make those purchases??

Remember when Paula Abdul was on in the same strange shape?  I remember I called and complained - she was obviously drunk or high.  I didn't see her on after she was acting oddly.

Re: Should HSN drop Jessica Simpson?

I watched the 2 hours online on HSN's youtube channel not just the videoclips that gossip and news sites have posted and Jessica Simpson did not look sober. Whether drugs or alcohol or both I don't know. Her mom Tina looked like she was babysitting her daughter. Jessica is lucky that she has a team looking after her because she's not the brightest.

I don't think she's a designer whatsoever at all. She's been fortunate to put her name on clothes and shoes though. And she's not fooling anyone with the sky high streetwalker shoes that she wears either...it doesn't make her look taller. She was wobbly in her shoes on the HSN set.

Her clothing line is sold in Canada at Hudson's Bay too and I've taken plenty of looks at her them. They are junior cut and ill fitting and the shoes are stiff, narrow, and have no padding. Who buys this stuff?

Re: Should HSN drop Jessica Simpson?

Host Colleen Lopez is polished and poised and she looks great in anything. Too bad she has to put up with an inferior vendor like Jessica Simpson but what does a shopping channel expect when they put on "celebrity" vendors who can't carry on a coherant conversation? Drunk or whatever, Simpson was awful.

No wonder HSN brass has to put out a statement defending Simpson after social media lambasted her bizarre live on air behavior.

Re: Should HSN drop Jessica Simpson?

I watched for about 45 minutes and just thought it was Jessica Simpson being her normal ditsy self.  Does anyone remember when she was on QVC around 2003 - 2004 selling her "lickable body products" ?  Patti Reilly was the host.  Her personality was the same.

Drop Jessica Simpson?

Of course not!  This was the best programming HSN has produced in a long time.   Think about it...ALL the web traffic to their site...money can't buy marketing like that!

Vendor behavior is uncomfortable even on The Q.  Between a jewelry vendor barely opening her eyes and a fashion vendor talking so fast...yeah, we have our giggles, as well.   Maybe not The Soup giggle, tho.....we reserve our hosts for that honor...! Smiley Tongue
