Shipping Problems, Losing Sales

I have officially stopped doing any Christmas gift shopping from QVC because I just can't trust that it will arrive in time.  We are doing a "Secret Santa" exchange at work next week and I thought of a couple things from QVC, then decided against it because there's no way it would arrive within 10 days.  And really, anything that needs to arrive before December 23rd is just too iffy at this point.  Yet they keep selling . . .

Lots of people don't care when something arrives because it is not a gift with a deadline. Agree we are in the danger zone for getting something by Christmas though.

Then they should quit hocking items as "arriving in time for Christmas" and just say "you might not get it in time for Christmas, but you will get it."

Re: Shipping Problems, Losing Sales

I'm finished with holiday shopping and really with almost any personal shopping of the kinds of items QVC sells, but if I were into their inventory, I'd be one of those ordering for 2 reasons.  The most obvious is that I am not hindered by a holiday deadline, but the other is that every order I have made with QVC while the shipping chaos has been going on has arrived just as everything has for about the last 5+ years.

No idea why some items, some addresses, don't seem to have suffered -  just know I'd have no idea there were problems if I weren't reading the boards.

I live in PA .... Muk Luk item just shipped from CA.  Been 10 days before any movement.

I ordered the exact same item last month, was shipped from their PA Warehouse, came in 3 days.   Not understanding their logic.

@sunshine45  You must have some special connections at QVC, because your experience is not the norm.

The rest of us deal with slow shipping--to my address in CO it's at least 10 days--mixups in orders, returns & refunds not credited, expensive two-way shipping charges...the list goes on and on. In a world of free and fast shipping as a STANDARD, QVC is way behind, which I suspect is the reason for their declining sales last year. With Amazon & others online dominating the market, fewer customers will put up with QVC's antiquated business model.

WHY would you even consider QVC if you say it wouldn't arrive in time?  Why would you wait that late and consider ordering from what you say is an unreliable source?

Do you suggest they stop selling because YOU have an issue with receiving items in time?

@GraceCO

qvc has MANY customers and only a very very small percentage actually post on these boards. i am not sure who "the rest of us" are that you refer to, other than some of the posters on here.  i have no special connections and i dont know if my experience may be "the norm" or not.. there have been customers who also post similar experiences to mine.

of course, to each his own. we should all shop where we have good experiences, good products, and excellent customer service.

interestingly, i do have amazon prime and THAT has slowed up for me. i ordered items on friday and they are now not expected until wednesday.

Re: Shipping Problems, Losing Sales

Shipping for me seems to be improving, but it is still slow.  I have ordered stuff for myself, but I am done now.  The only things I have ordered for gifts are the Harry Slakin candles, and the Lock & Lock bags and containers.  Other than that, there is nothing QVC offers that I would buy anyone.  I don't trust their electronics.  They don't sell men's clothes.  The food seems to be very expensive and I don't trust a good delivery experience with food here in Florida.  And the tools and flashlights and whatever just don't excite me or anyone I would buy for.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead
