IMG_0567.JPG@Ifeelwicked Bless you for rescuing beautiful furbabies. We have two rescue dogs and one rescue cat at this time. I recently changed my avatar from my "real life" cat to the white one because the blinking eye is so cute. Here's my baby. We rescued him from a no kill center when he was six years old. He's now 10.

I have no doubt that these boards are read by TPTB at QVC.  People have reported receiving telephone calls from QVC over something they posted on this board, like an issue they were having.  This board is used as a tool for QVC.  If there was nothing in it for them, they wouldn't still have it running.  There certainly is no reason for them to have a message board if there wasn't something in it for them.

The problem is, we are just a small blip of QVC shoppers.  While many people on this board might complain about something or someone, there are probably many others who aren't complaining and could even be complimenting certain situations or hosts.

The decline in revenue and in their stock prices certainly should hit a nerve.  Although what is perceived as just a small percentage of customers chosing to provide feedback, there appear to many many customers just walking away and choosing other retailers and not say anything as they leave which equals their decline

I wonder (after the holiday dust settles and the returns are processed) just how QVC is doing profits wise.

I read something in another thread in which the OP stated that vendor/product companies buy air time and exposure on QVC. Does anyone know if that is true? I thought they just shared the profits.

I know this is very off the topic but I am interested.

@wonderfulworld

Well their 1st, 2nd, 3rd quarter results didnt bring them happy news....and their 4th quarter (christmas season) will be given the end of February.....

I don't think this is true.  The reason I say that is within the last couple of weeks, a vendor was on I believe one of the morning fashion shows.  The host thanked her for being there and the vendor said something about how excited she was when she received the letter from QVC inviting her to appear that day.

I think they have done this in the past and backed off, but I wouldn't rule out their doing it again. I remember a couple of times, but don't remember what it was for QVC. I know than HSN did it. Automobiles, cruises/cruise lines and I can't remember what else, but it has been done. I haven't seen either channel do it for a couple of years as far as I can remember, so for whatever reason it must not have been as profitable as the channels thought it would be.

@Moonchilde

HSN seems to have contests, partnered with Hollywood movies (the new Wizard of Oz movie along with merchandise and the movie Joy about their key vendor)...but these efforts seemed to flop because HSNs results are worse than QVC's.....now they are partnering with Lifetime to have HSN's products appear in their movies...Woman Frustrated

QVC owns 38% of HSN which I find wierd because they are part of the competition.......

I agree.  This is their job. One nice thing about remotes, you can change the channel.  I like her glasses.  Not everyone can pull it off.  She does

@Teddixat

Yep, I think we all know how to use a remote..... Woman WinkWoman LOL

Why is it we know all these wonderful things she does for her family? I guess all of the other many hosts are so lucky they have no trials and tribulations in their lives?

I find there are very few who escape through life w/o having to go through the hardships of family and loved ones' failings. It's life, and all the other hosts you don't know about, do their job, and quietly suffer through the tribulations.

A lot is known because people follow these hosts on FB and Instagram.

@Lipstickdiva

Some hosts do share on the air!!!  JRT is a case in point and so does Shawn....its not just FB and Instagram....if that was the case, the situation would be resolved....

All I can say is that if my daughter went on TV and told millions of people personal and private information about my health issues I would be horrified.  But then again I come from a time when certain issues were considered private and not for dissemination to everyone especially to millions of TV viewers.

I would be horrified if my daughter did that and told about shaving her bikini area and shaving her underarms on air and if she discussed her bathing schedule (every two day's for one host) Woman HappyHeart
