I have been on a political forum for years.  The moderator and owner of the site is a well respected physician.. He/she runs a very tight ship, so there is no way he/she would allow any unkindness from fellow posters, nor would the extremely bright, gifted participants on the board stoop to that level. 

They have no need to and have the ability to make their point without going into attack mode.

The vast majority of posters come here for fun and relaxation, not for being scolded or told what to do by others who themselves are less than perfect.

ITA, let the mods do their job. We don't need posters patrolling the boards policing fellow members. The mods do their job.

I agree, this topic has been hashed and re-hashed we took the surveys and decisions were made--it's QVC's Forum, let the Mods do their job, we don'tneed mini-mods.  If they just want nothing but positive posts then they can create a QVC Host Fan Club Facebook Page or Blog that they can control!

This is an Opinion forum. And you're so right, @Spurt. Were it all positive opinions, it would be a Fan club. And as much as one woman loves something, there's the next woman who detests it. That's what makes a forum interesting: differing opinions. There's nothing wrong at all, @Spurt my friend, with you loving something and me disliking the same thing. And both opinions will be strongly felt and written so.

Concur with what you said my friend, although I hope that opinion differences are discussed in an intelligent manner---- respecting each other to have their own view point. Too many times those that dont want to see a discouraging word about QVC/hosts/vendors write some of the meanest, nastiest things back to someone who has written an opinion about a host, and it's sometimes far nastier and meaner than what was even said about the host/vendor/QVC---  If I say I dont like a host because ......................., why can't they just say, I like this host because and leave it at that or ignore the thread altogether....

@Spurt~~~That was exactly what happened to me. I guess Albany had finally gotten on my last nerve and I said something about her overly flirtatious ways with every male within a fifty mile radius. 

Another poster came at me as if I had said something about a family member, then said worse things about Shawn. She then asked me what my point was. 

My point was exactly what I said and to be honest is at least partly why Albany left to spend more time with her family IMHO.

So sorry you have to experience that just for giving your opinion--- it's like some folks are a self appointed security guard for their favorite host or something---SHEESH!!!  (and BTW I thought the same thing about Albany being flirtatious with male vendors, one time she was really being flirty with Liam the Vionic vendor, and he said something to the effect that he was not amused by her comment)

@Spurt~~~When I think about what I wrote about Albany way back when, I do remember why I wrote it. It wasn't for my health or because I had nothing better to do, it was because I thought her over the top flirting was putting herself in jeopardy and she would wind up losing her job over it, in addition to it was getting on my last nerve!

I too heard what Liam said to her that day and while this will always be speculation, I would bet that he was getting a lot of flack from home over it and felt compelled to say something to her. 

Albany is a very bright girl, so I wonder if that was her way of shooting herself in the foot on purpose?

I've worked with people for the last 50 years, people in all levels of life from homeless to CEOs.  You'd be surprised at how few people "know" how to interpret a post/comment.

No. Some posters are repeat offenders...almost 2 or 3 times a week. If they are constantly reported by other posters, I think they should lose their posting privileges for a few days until they learn to play nicely.

I think posters who continually report other posts are the ones who should lose their posting privileges.  Aren't we all adults here? 

Someone would have to really post something awful for me to report it.

Companies are very sensitive about can be construed as "harrassment" and I know our company had a meeting about this with all employees---- how serious this can be and we were told to be very careful because you can lose your job over a remark,  or something that you construe as an innocent email or joke but someone doesnt view it that way.....That is just the way the Corporate world works these days and I'm sure QVC has rules in place covering this issue as well, so it made me a bit amazed at how she acted, she is certainly an intelligent woman, but perhaps this was her personality but it didnt sit well with some viewers regardless of the reason she is not with QVC..............

Exactly. Because with a post, it's just the written word.  You aren't seeing facial expressions or hearing voice inflections or tone either.

Same here: I've never reported a post nor seen one that was so awful it had to be reported.

I am one who thinks adults on fashion boards can handle that. How much hate can be on a home shopping network forum?

I've seeen some posts/threads on this Forum over the years that were real doozies  there was one in particular that started off innocently enough about Wolf Spiders of all things (having had one on my front porch I was interested in reading the topic---these spiders are huge and are like a blonde tarantula) well the thread steadily took a downhill turn, apparentty there was a group that didnt like the author of the spider thread, and the author and her friends accused the attackers of being a group of women in prison.... at first it was rather interesting reading, then it turned into the most vile and hateful thread ever!!!  It generated a lot of pages and a lot of comments,  apparently a Mod got a hold of it, and worked on that thread throughout the night, because the next day it was paired down to the 3 comments that were actually about the orignal topic, the spider......I dont know why the whole thread just wasn't deleted..(not sure if the Mod just saw the thread, maybe they were alerted by the sheer number of pages of comments....or if someone reported it)....I didnt report it I just quit reading it.

And there have been others ......  there was even a thread posted about a year or so ago, called the most interesting QVC threads.....quite enlightening.......I write on a Sports Forum and sports rivalries can be pretty intense....but I've seen meaner and more hateful posts here........I do think there are a couple of Forum Topic Categories that should have a "warning label"......

These days I can only imagine .....just from reading some of the Facebook Pages of some of the News Stations---OMG!!! WOW!!!  And someone actually suggested that QVC allow politicial talk on this Forum----
